Comptoir Café & Wine is a café by day and a wine bar by night in Mayfair, two minutes from Selfridges. Coffee and pastries at the counter give way to a lunch that lingers, then an aperitivo that becomes dinner. Downstairs, Master Sommelier Xavier Rousset chooses the bottles for the wine shop.

We pictured someone near Bond Street, phone in hand, deciding where to go next. So the site follows the clock, from the morning bonjour to the last glass, and booking a table is never more than a tap away. The cellar, the tastings and private hire sit a little further in, for those who want more.

The look comes from the room itself: navy inline capitals like a shopfront sign, a faintly tiled cream ground, and one claret red kept for booking. The same photographs and a voice with a little French in it run from the site to the posts that bring people in, so it all feels like one Comptoir.
